SEO audit services that tell you what to fix first

A hand-run audit of your website, not another automated score.

Most SEO audit services hand you a tool export and call it a report. Ours does the part that actually changes your rankings: senior people examine your site by hand, separate the issues that matter from the 200 that do not, and give you one prioritised list of what to fix first. We audit your website for SEO across the technical foundations, your content and keywords, and how you show up against competitors, then end with a roadmap your team can act on rather than file away.

What you actually get from an SEO audit

A good website audit for SEO is not a list of problems, it is a decision. Every finding we surface is scored by impact and effort and ranked so you know the three things to do this month and what can wait. You receive a health scorecard, the prioritised findings, an executive summary your leadership can read in two minutes and a full appendix written for the developers who will implement it, followed by a live readout call.

Why a hand-run audit beats a tool report

A tool can crawl your site, but it cannot tell you which issues are quietly costing you traffic and which are noise. That judgement is the whole job. Because we do not sell the SEO retainer or the media we review, our findings are genuinely independent: we will tell you when something is working fine and you should leave it alone, which no tool and few agencies ever do.

Who these audits are for

Our SEO audit services suit in-house marketers and founders whose organic traffic has plateaued, who have just been through a migration or redesign, or who simply need an honest second opinion before committing the next year's budget. We also offer SEO audit services for agencies who want a white-label specialist behind their own reports.

How our SEO audit works, from scoping call to readout

It starts with a free scoping call. We ask what prompted the audit, whether that is a traffic drop, a redesign, a plateau or a budget decision, which pages and markets matter most to the business, and who will act on the findings. That tells us where the audit should spend its time and lets us quote a fixed fee before any work begins.

Next, we gather the evidence. We crawl the site, and where you can share read-only access to Google Search Console and your analytics, we use them to see which pages and searches actually earn impressions and visits. That keeps the audit grounded in how your site performs, not in generic best practice.

Then a senior auditor works through the technical foundations, your content and keyword targeting, and how you compare with the competitors who take the clicks you want. The pages that bring in enquiries or sales are checked by hand, rather than trusting a tool's severity labels.

Finally, every finding is scored by impact and effort and turned into one ranked roadmap, which we walk through with you on a live readout call so your team leaves knowing exactly what to do first.

When an SEO audit is worth it, and when it is not

An SEO audit earns its fee before a big decision rather than after a bad month: before a redesign or migration goes live, when organic traffic or enquiries have fallen and nobody can say why, when growth has stalled despite steady content work, or before you renew an SEO retainer and want an independent view of what you are paying for.

It is not always the right first step. If your site is brand new with very little content, or nobody will be able to make changes in the next few months, a full audit is premature. In that case our free SEO audit snapshot or a short scoping call will tell you more for less, and we will say so.

Common questions

What is an SEO audit?

An SEO audit is a structured review of everything that decides how well your website ranks: its technical health, content and keyword targeting, and authority relative to competitors. A good one ends in a prioritised action plan rather than a raw list of issues.

How much does an SEO audit cost?

Our website SEO audits start from £595 for a focused technical audit, with full multi-area audits scoped to the size of your site. See our SEO audit cost guide for what drives the price and our pricing page for fixed-fee packages.

How long does an SEO audit take?

Most single audits are delivered within 7 days. Larger sites or combined audits take a little longer, and we always agree a firm delivery date before we start.

What access do you need for an SEO audit?

A publicly crawlable website is enough to begin. Read-only access to Google Search Console and your analytics makes the audit sharper, because it shows which pages and searches actually bring you traffic. Logins to your CMS or hosting are not usually needed.

Can an SEO audit explain a drop in traffic?

Often, yes. We line up when the drop started against site changes, migrations and Google updates, and check which pages and searches lost visibility. That usually narrows the cause to a technical change, a content or search-intent problem, or a shift in the competition, and tells you what to fix first.

Do you implement the fixes too?

Our core service is the independent audit and roadmap. We can support your in-house team or hand you to a trusted implementation partner, but the audit itself stays unbiased because we do not sell the work we recommend.
